It's always fun to go to Bangkok when you can spend time other than at the office. My most recent stay was at the Four Seasons Hotel last week, and I was joined by my wife, and we enjoyed the May 1 holiday just hanging out.

While I was on a 1-day meeting, my wife joined a Thai cooking class, a popular one for gourmets and would-be chefs, and the class includes pick-up arrangements from the hotel, a trip to the local market to buy fresh ingredients including spices, the hands-on cooking class and then an enjoyable lunch of what they prepared.
The hotel is a good base for easy trips to the main malls like Central World and Paragon. But as we're staying at the Executive Floor, we took our time to enjoy the hotel and have a relaxed breakfasts.
Here's the Grand staircase with a highly decorated wall
Notice the ceiling panels are decorated with unique intricate and colorful patterns.
Gold is a popular highlight for many designs.
They certainly give the hotel a more elegant feel
Wood carvings are also very popular in traditional Thai interiors.
As well as bright flower arrangements.
Here's the deck with some nice, open space. The pool is also on this floor.
And here's another view of the lobby lounge.
The Four Seasons is definitely an elegant option for a visit to Bangkok. And if you can stay at the Executive Floor with lounge access, that would be great, and make the most of afternoon tea.
