Louis Vuitton Zippy Organizer, and other options for travel wallets

Considering a travel organizer? They come in many different shapes and sizes, even colors. The price range is from under SGD 50 for a fabric-constructed organizer, to about SGD 150 for a full leather organizer. Going around Takashimaya Department Store in Singapore, through to Wisma Atria and visiting the shops along the way will give you many options. However if you are going for a luxury branded Travel Organizer, be ready to spend in e range of SGD 450 and up.

There are three models of Coach leather travel organizers, some slim, some with an abundance of pockets and slots for cards. Prices would go from under SGD 500 to under SGD 700, depending on the model. Within the three models, a very broad range of leather and canvas styles and colors are available. The items are not visible on the Coach website, so you'd have to visit the shops, but a look here let's you see the exciting range of leather colors and styles available. (There should be more Coach catalogs on-line, but I can't view them on my iPad.)
There's also a limited edition with a dragon print to commemorate the 2012 Chinese New Year (I wouldn't mind receiving one of these as I have a fascination for dragons).
These are good options, depending on your needs and use.

There is a Mont Blanc black leather travel organizer, in an extra large size, at SGD 560. It has a pen holder, as one would expect, and a small notepad (what would you do with the pen, right?). You can even buy replacement notepads at SGD 9.90 each. This doesn't have too many pockets and is quite nice, but you'd have to like the big size.

There is also a Davidoff fine leather travel wallet in black and a unique Cognac color. Available at the Starhill Gallery in Kuala Lumpur (see my previous blog), these provide distinction via their vibrant yet refined look.

The leather interior of the Louis Vuitton Zippy Organizer, Monogram shares similar design features with the Bally Bevyn and the Prada Saffiano travel wallets.

Gucci has several options available, including a vintage style all leather model. The Gucci travel wallets differ somewhat from the typical mold, so check them out. The price range is about SGD 600 to SGD 800.

Bally of Switzerland has 2 designs for travel wallets. One has a generous number of pockets for cards and is somewhat thick (it's the travel wallet version of this Taliro wallet), while the other, Bevyn, has a more restrained number of card slots and therefore slimmer, uses fine leather, and also has a pen holder. This would be my choice if I got a Bally. The price is about SGD 850, and it's available at the Bally shop in Ion, Singapore.

There is also a Prada Saffiano leather travel document holder (you can see more details from this site). this is another good option if you want something more discreet. Price in Singapore at the Changi Terminal 2 Duty Free Prada shop is SGD 850.

Considering all my options. I went for the Louis Vuitton Zippy Organizer. I didn't have an LV Monogram item yet, and whereas I previously avoided the somewhat loud design, it's appeal has been growing on me. Maybe partly because of looking at the LV history books and vintage displays at the flagship store at the Marina Bay Sands (check out a previous blog on this).

Overall the design, features, colors and function of the LV item suited me most. Another plus factor was the personalization that LV offered. I didn't want to pay an extra SGD 600 on top of the SGD 1080 for the item, to get my initials and colored stripes printed on the exterior and have my choice of leather interior color (maybe in the future?); however LV offers to gold stamp certain leather items at no added cost. This has it's special appeal. In my case it took only about 20 minutes, and I was well attended during this time, asked to lounge at the classy sofa and living room setting at their Marina Bay Sands flagship store, and given a refreshing glass of fruit juice, before the personally marked Zippy Organizer was brought to me. A great shopping experience.

If you'd like to get a travel wallet, check out all the options available. Check out the links above, do more searches, and enjoy hunting in shops. Then take your time to choose. You'd probably not want to buy many travel wallets, so get the one that suits you best.
