New Leica Shop at Starhill Gallery, Kuala Lumpur

As if Starhill Gallery in KL weren't yet nice enough with all the luxury watch boutiques and shops, including the Zino Davidoff boutique, now a new Leica camera shop and showroom has just opened.

The boutique store features beautiful, detailed and contrasy, extra large blow-up prints taken with the new Leica X-2 that they are promoting. This is selling for about RM 7,700 for the basic unit.

Of course a Leica boutique is not complete without some vintage Leica cameras on display, and this shop is no exception. Here is a Leica lens on half price! Because it's a half lens!

Check out this 70-year old Leica lens made in Canada, that is selling for RM 12,000! Hey, not a bad investment! A nice excuse to buy a posh Leica now, then give as an inheritance in the future! :)

Here is another Leica on display.

A limited edition Leica M6 up for grabs at RM 38,800!

Now yes, these are rather pricey. So what are their tags for regular series production models? Check them here.

Now an interesting camera on showcase is the Leica M9-P Edition Hermès camera.

This is the single lens version, on sale for RM 88,000.

A trip to a Leica boutique, if you stop and stay long enough to appreciate the displays and chit chat a bit, is like walking down a hallway of history. Maybe particularly for me as my Grandfather owned a Leica, two generations before me.

It's an enjoyable pause.

P.S. do you have an old camera you want to sell? Which one? Contact me.
