Leica D-Lux 6 'Edition by G-Star RAW', Great Leica Limited Edition under $2000!

Leica has just come out with the Leica D-Lux 6 'Edition by G-Star RAW', and this could be the best Limited Edition Leica camera you could get for under $2,000!

One look at the camera and you'll see that this is a beauty! The D-Lux 6 in itself is a wonderful, feature-packed, pro-capable camera with an f1:1.8 lens. I use a D-Lux 5, and it has replaced my use of a bulky and heavy advanced-amateur DSLR for more than a year! See my blogs on the D-Lux 5 and the D-Lux 6.

Now combine the exceptional capabilities of the Leica D-Lux 6 with the amazing look of the 'Edition by G-Star RAW' and you have a sure winner!
The camera looks really great! I've commented before that the D-Lux design projects the look of a miniature pro-camera, and this Limited Edition with the leather trim reinforces that even further.
The unique leather trim with a distinctive dot pattern is claimed to provide exceptional levels of grip. But I would also think that aside from the functional (and visual!) enhancement, the textured tactile feel would also be a treat!

On the leather case, the use of a darker shade of brown is also quite choiceful, and provides an added elegant touch.

If you have a Leica D-Lux 4, or another small camera, if you can, I suggest you go for the Leica D-Lux 6. You'll be glad you did.
If you have a Leica D-Lux 5 like I do, then moving up to the Leica D-Lux 6 is more optional. See my considerations from my precious blog.

With this new Limited Edition model, Leica makes a more compelling proposition to move up to the Leica D-Lux 6. After all, Leica has a string of Limited Edition cameras that range in the price of SGD 30,000 or (much) more! How often can you get a Limited Edition Leica for under SGD 2,000?!
Note also that the G-Star RAW brand, coming from the Netherlands, is worthy of attention.

I checked availability at the Leica dealer in Marina Bay Sands Singapore yesterday and stocks were not yet available, but the price of this Limited Edition was estimated at SGD 1,800 versus the regular model at about SGD 1,200.

Design evolution or designers work?
This Limited Edition is a Leica D-Lux 6 in its core, true and true. But a few added materials and enhancements in the right places give it a wonderful bump in attractiveness, and product life. Were these all simply Evolution at work, or the work of a designer, and engineers, and manufacturers?
Of course this is the work of people! How absurd to think anything else!
However if I was one who was adamant in believing and insisting that there were no Leica designers, nor any other people who built cameras, then my conclusion by necessity and by default is that the Limited Edition camera evolved on its own! How absurd is that?!

Yet people by and large accept that living cells evolved from non-living matter, and that primitive living cells acquired the ability to move, to eat, digest food, find food, reproduce, process light and dark into images and color and see, avoid extermination, and advance from said primitive life structures into more and more complex, highly specialized animals, and finally into human beings! Just study a caterpillar's metamorphosis into a butterfly, a bat's echolocation capability, a pigeon's three-dimensional navigation of the Earth's magnetic fields, a viper's thermal visioning system, a giraffe's complex blood vessel system that supports its long neck with an extreme distance from it's heart and how it's head doesn't explode anytime it bows down to drink water, etc., etc., and you'll be amazed at the level of complexity built into each unique design. And these all happened by themselves through trial and error, in the course of millions of years, say evolutionary scientists who refuse to believe in God? How many millions of years would it take for a Leica D-Lux 6 to become a Leica D-Lux 6 'Edition G-Star RAW' all on its own? Eternity wouldn't be enough! No chance in 5 billion years!

Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32 NIV)

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. (John 3:16, 18 NIV)

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them. (John 3:36 NIV)

But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8 NIV)

Once you've made your peace with God through accepting His Son Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, go get that Leica! :D
