This is one of the most upbeat and encouraging podcasts I've listened to lately, so I wanted to share it. Amidst the steady news of wars and protests and killings that I get from BBC World Service - Global News, this is light hearted and refreshing - How A French Atheist Became a Christian Theolgian, from Reasonable Faith with Dr. William Lane Craig. Click the link, this is a "must-listen-to"!
To read the text of the podcast from the Reasonable Faith website, click this link.
To view a 5-minute video of Guillaume Bignon, the French former atheist, click this link.
I like the podcast as it gives a bit more detail, though both the podcast and the video are made excellently.
The story of Guillaume Bignon is one that many Christians will identify with, where he comes to the point of really understanding the Gospel message, then makes a decision to turn to Christ. He then later realizes how God was moving in his circumstances to draw him closer to Himself.
While listening to the podcast, my heart was burning within me. This reminded me of the story of the disciples on the road to Emmaus, where the risen Jesus met them and travelled alongside them, explaining the Scriptures to them, and their hearts were "burning" -
When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24:30-32 NIV)
The story of Guillaume is of a man being "born again", just as Jesus was explaining to Nicodemus in John 3. If you haven't had that experience and want to know what it means to be born again, then pray and search the scriptures as Guillaume did. Or post a comment or a question and I'll help you as I can.
Safe journeys!
