A collectible cast of Star Wars original characters in classy pewter by Royal Selangor is available while supply and production lasts, at Suntec City, Singapore. Priced for the upscale market, these highly detailed miniature statues are works of art and solid craftsmanship. These are heavy pieces, well worth their weight in pewter.
Darth Vader of course is the leading character and he is presented in his usual menacing pose. Stare at it and you could almost hear the heavy breathing.... Hhhuuuuffff....Darth Vader comes larger than the other characters, and is sold as a limited edition in 5,000 numbered pieces, for SGD 450.
Here's a nice diorama of Darth Vader looking outside his ship and facing .... The Suntec mall! Note that the back is equally given attention to detail. And so it is with all the characters.
Yoda of course will never be far behind, and here he is in fighting stance, light saver drawn for a fight.
Here is Boba Fett looking sleek as usual, geared up and ready for a chase. This is one of my favorite characters, a very good purchase at SGD 170.
Here is Boba Fett from the side. And here you get a glimpse of one of the Imperial Stormtroopers. Of course a Star Wars cast will never be complete without Stormtroopers.
I would have preferred to have C3PO available, but ok. Where is Luie Skywalker? He's in his own diorama that sells at about SGD 4,500 in a limited edition of 500 pieces. The scene is not the best in my opinion though. Check out the display at Suntec if you want to see it.
And Han Solo? He's shown life size, frozen solid and ready for shipment by Boba Fett to Jabba the Hutt!
Quite impressive.
The Riyal Selangor display is available at Suntec until November 22, 2015. Check it out before it's gone!
Enjoy and relive your Star Wars memories!
P.S. Fathers, do memorable activities with your sons, even if it is just watching a special movie! One reason I like Boba Fett is that my Dad and I watched Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back at a special preview screening at the Philippine International Convention Center. It was a big and grand event, and th movie really captured my imagination. At that time, no other movie came close in terms of visual and sound effects. After the screening, the event Organizers had booths selling Star Wars memorabilia, and my Dad bought me a poster of my choosing, which was Boba Fett, and I had mounted that in my room the while time I was growing up. So fathers, invest in memories with your son, they will last more than your lifetime!
