Fishing, sailing or winsurfing are active sports activities that typically require you to drive long distances and go very early in the morning to get that enjoyment. Not in compact and well-laid out Singapore! Here you can get to the East Coast Park in an hour or less, play your way in the sun all morning, then you be showered and fresh for lunch at your favorite resto! This is Part 2 of a series on outdoor fun in Singapore.
Sailing in Singapore! Available along the East Coast. Kids and adults learn to sail or just enjoy the seas. Check out the National Sailing Center and places around it. It's tucked away towards the side of Changi Airport, but there are interesting places around there, so it's not to be missed.
Windsurfing is also very popular and has its following in SG.
In the Philippines if you were in Makati, Manila or Alabang you'd have to drive at least 3 hours to go windsurfing. Then take another 4 going back. Singapore offers 3 hours of windsurfing, plus time to do other things after! All in a Saturday morning (Sundays we go to worship services and thank God!).
A big bunch of windsurfers, I'm guessing they're in a learning class.
People fishing at Bedok Jetty along the East Coast Park. People fish here at all times of the day, and night! I've visited here at midnight on a weekday and there are still a good handful of people!
Bedok Jetty juts out of the shore s good, long distance, and so you will see fishing enthusiasts with serious gear! It's also a nice place to drop by if you're on a bike.
There's much more to do in Singapore. And you can see all these on a bike.
Stressed from work? Out on a vacation? Relax your mind by putting your body to work, and get healthier at the same time.
More outdoor things to do.... keep posted.
Bye for now.
