New Gucci Eden Man's backpack at SG Changi Airport

The new Gucci Eden backpack with classic Gucci beige canvas with the GG print and bold black leather features was just spotted at the Singapore Changi Airport.

The design is a large central section with a drawstring closure and a large smooth, black leather cover having two straps for cinching down. There are two pockets on opposite sides also with smooth, black leather covers and strong magnetic "lock downs".

The bag design and colors & pattern combinations are very masculine, in sharp contrast to many bags offered by Gucci today. Refreshing in this aspect.
No metal hardware on this one. The strap locks are all black plastic, smooth in feel and operation. The canvas itself is very soft and lightweight, softer than previous canvas versions, while the leather is thick and sturdy.

At the back is a soft and breathable padding in black foam and textile. The shoulder straps are wide and soft and thin, so no bulky protrusions. There is a generous-sized top leather carry strap. Overall these are improved features. You'll have no sweaty dress shirt carrying this on the back. And no print canvas at the back to get subjected to wear. The only thing that doesn't suit me so well is the addition of a sternum strap that isn't removable. This seems a bit awkward, but still okay. Especially if you plan to have long walks while using this bag on travels.

The bottom is printed black leather that won't scratch easily, and will allow men to drop their bags down anywhere, giving a carefree feeling. Another design enhancement.

The bag looks great on the shoulders, and the classic Gucci subdued beige colors with bold black leather will match anything you're wearing, relaxed, smart casual or formal.

It's also very comfortable. And if you're concerned with having uneven shoulders from carrying a messenger bag, this is a great alternative.

Inside, the bag is lined with black smooth nylon. It has a pocket for an iPad and smaller pockets for keeping some key items. Not too generous I would say, but sufficient when you consider the two small pockets outside.

I wouldn't use this backpack for carrying a computer. It's not designed for it. For small items and precious items, use a pouch to make sure they don't slip out.

Overall, this is a very handsome bag. Well designed, with significant improvements to previous bags. I would say this is the best Man's Gucci backpack to date. Congrats to Gucci for this great design. Price at Singapore Duty Free? SGD 2252. Not bad for a large luxury bag that allows you to tour the city with all the gadgets and gear you want to carry.

That's it for now. Safe travels.
God bless!
