Mt Kalugong Best Cafe with Natural Mountain View in Benguet

If you’re in Baguio or Benguet in the Philippines and looking for a scenic adventure with a bit of a hike and want to be rewarded with great coffee and a hearty meal, head out to Mt Kalugong Cultural Village at Kalugong Rd, La Trinidad, Benguet

You will find Mt Kalugong Cultural Village on Google Maps. The drive up is somewhat challenging with steep roads, but not a problem at all.

From the “trailhead”, you’ll see the sign going up and stairs of metal bars. I’m thinking these will be constructed into concrete stairs and form railing, but as we went up they were only bars.
Once at the main grounds, you’ll have to walk further up to get to the best coffee place and see the mountain rock formations.

You’ll be rewarded by a beautiful cafe and restaurant.

An added point of feature is the owner’s fascination and keen interest on coffee. She is officially certified as a coffee cupper and has a very broad display of all kinds of coffee-making apparatus. She has individual shelves with many multiple pieces for each type, from ceramic drip coffee makers to Bialetti type moka express kettles to siphon coffee to French presses. So expect the coffee to be excellent. Best Philippine variety beans are used.

The food is very tasteful and carefully prepared and plated as they have a cruise-ship chef on their staff! The food choices and coffee options are generous.
From a viewing deck on the restaurant you can see the city and the valley below, including the La Trinidad strawberry fields.

A short walk from the cafe is a treat to many rock formations and picturesque scenes. Don’t miss taking photos here.

Sharing this wonderful visit to Mt Kalugong as we would not have discovered this if not for our friendly “local” tour guides.
