Petrified Wood Accent Tables or Stools for the Upmarket Living Room

Petrified wood is becoming popular among those in the know. And why not, when famous British interior designer Kelly Hoppen includes elegant designer tables like giant tree trunks as elements in her work.

I was very pleased to discover that giant tree trunks, in this case natural petrified wood are now available at Celestina, a shop for personal and home fashion at Greenbelt 5, Makati, Philippines.

These petrified wood pieces make elegant side tables or seats, especially for the discriminating. Since these are natural, each piece is unique, with varying shapes, sizes, tree ring patterns and color tones. Celestina has a wide collection, so you're bound to find a piece that you like.

Petrified wood is a main focus of the displays at Celestina at Greenbelt 5, Makati.

The petrified tree trunks are big and heavy, basically they are miniature boulders, as the wood has been replaced by minerals, transforming them into stone while preserving their organic shapes and creating interesting color tones.

Petrified wood are tree fossils, and these were previously believed to be millions of years old. In fact, upright fossil trees were actually used by Sir Charles Lyell to effectively question the Genesis Creation account, paving the way for Darwin to push his theory of biological uniformitarianism and eventually his theory of evolution. Today however, after many studies and experiments, it has already been repeatedly demonstrated that wood can be petrified within a day and take only months to complete, and this happens in nature when the conditions are right. Petrified wood doesn't require millions of years to form!

Further investigation into upright fossil trees, called "Poystrate fossils" when they are embedded into many different layers of rock, have shown that they are actually strong evidence that support creation, and are not compatible with evolutionary explanations that they are millions of years old. These investigations debunk the arguments of Sir Charles Lyell, just as other previously held strong arguments for evolution have similarly been proven false or hoaxes. (Check here to personally investigate more details.)

Poystrate fossils don't fit a "millions of years old" story as explained by evolutionists. Think about it, how can a tree be fully covered by sediments that are supposedly laid down in layers only millimeters-thick at a time, spanning supposed millions of years? How can one part of a tree be embedded in rock that is supposedly 10 million years older than the rock that covers another part of the tree? How incredulous is that? Rapid burial due to massive flooding or volcanic eruptions and rapid sediment deposition covering the whole trees, then the sediment turning into rock, makes more sense.

When Mount St. Helens erupted in the U.S. in 1980, it was one of the most extensively documented and studied volcanic eruptions in history. Among the many findings is that the violent eruption displaced huge amounts of ash and earth, wiped out forests, created landslides, and formed geologic features in one day that were previously thought to take millions of years. Then, formations of coal beds and upright petrified wood were seen at the nearby Spirit Lake in only 10 years!

Read more fascinating documentation and details in these great resources Footprints In The Ash and The Young Earth. The key point is that the evidence more closely fits the Biblical account of creation, and does not show good compatibility with the theory of evolution. Thus it is more sound, more logical, more compatible with observational science,
more wise to believe the Bible on Genesis' account of Creation versus the debunked foundations of the theory of evolution ..

As of this writing, each piece costs about $1,200 or SGD 1,500, depending on size. Even with a 20% discount they are still pricey, though beautiful. These pieces in Celestina come from Indonesia, and learning about formations of natural petrified wood through volcanic eruptions like at Mount St. Helens, it makes sense since Indonesia is in the ring of fire with many active volcanoes.

Knowing their true history should give us a better appreciation for them.
A petrified wood side table is a grand statement, of your taste and ability, as well as of the authority of the Bible.
Then believing and accepting Genesis, we should study the rest of God's Word
