Update your Rimowa Luggage Lock; Buy Your Rimowa Salsa Hybrid in Manila

Rimowa is one of the best luggage bags you can buy. But a minor annoyance used to be the worn lock that gets stuck in the open position, which could lead to unintentionally changing the lock combination. And if you're not conscious and careful, this minor annoyance can turn into a phobia-inducing experience - being locked out of your own precious handcarry luggage items with no clue as to how to open the bag! BUT NOT ANYMORE! Rimowa has redesigned the lock, and they will replace your old lock with their generous 5-year warranty!

Quick and easy lock replacement.
The friendly and professional staff at the Rimowa shops can get your lock replaced in 10 minutes! So no worries on the inconvenience of having to leave your bag then come back for it on another day. This speaks well of the Rimowa luggage design for easy access to the lock, easy unfastening and secure refastening, good training of their worldwide staff, and stocking up on the locks in the stores so customers don't have to wait for orders to be placed. This pleasant experience is itself a strong come-on to purchase Rimowa bags.

Rimowa Salsa 4-wheel Cabin luggage a pleasure to use

Having now my own brand new BMW, I can confidently say that shifting from a regular luggage bag to a RIMOWA luggage bag is like upgrading from a regular car to a BMW. It's just - different! Better designed, easier to use, faster, more functional, etc., etc.

Is it worth it? If you can afford it and make use of it, then YES!
But just like when buying any expensive or luxury item, know that you have choices, and you must be the best manager of your personal wealth and resources. Don't overreach! At the same time recognize that buying the least expensive item is not necessarily the wisest choice. Check out this post for a few tips on luxury goods shopping.

Thinking of getting a RIMOWA bag? Why not the RIMOWA Salsa Hybrid?

The RIMOWA Salsa Hybrid is a Salsa Deluxe with three zippered, lockable, sturdy, expandable pockets in front for convenience in carrying a computer as well as having travel documents and reading materials easily accessible while at the airport. But not while flying as you'd like to avoid being one of those guys who have to access their bags in the overhead compartment mid-flight! That's okay when necessary, but not too cool so good to avoid by planning what you need and having them on your body when seated prior to take off.

I would particularly recommend the RIMOWA Salsa Hybrid as a cabin bag. Consider though that it is a few hundred grams heavier than the Salsa Deluxe, and almost a kilogram heavier than the Salsa. It is also more pricey at P37,800 for the cabin size bag. So, your choice will depend on your priorities.

The RIMOWA Salsa Deluxe loses the front pockets of the Hybrid but retains the RIMOWA clip with the extending roll-up belt to fasten additional bags in front, has the same top rubber handle with metal hardware cum highlights, and the same ergonomic sliding roller handle that can be locked to any comfortable height.

The RIMOWA Salsa Deluxe is a few hundred grams heavier than the Salsa, and is priced at P30,800.

The Rimowa Salsa retains the valuable features of the cabin bag but loses the front pockets, the clip for carrying additional bags and the rolling handle that can be positioned at any height. It is the lightest of the three though and therefore the most functional for carrying the most within the measly airline weight allowance, and at the price of P25,800 is the lowest among the three and though not cheap at all, it is quite a steal for a RIMOWA in Asia. Of course the lightest in price and weight is still the RIMOWA Salsa Air, but it is not to my personal liking.

The prices of these cabin bags are the lowest among Singapore and Malaysia. In fact, with the price of a Salsa in Singapore, you can get a Deluxe or a Hybrid in Manila! So buy in Manila if you have the opportunity!

The graduations in features, functions and prices are well-placed. The improvement in the lock design is well-appreciated. With RIMOWA you get the benefit of solid and desirable German design, engineering and technology. No design chances and coincidences are at play here!
